WHAT IS THERE TO SEE DURING THE TOUR?
Here is a choice of tour options and attractions for you to choose from to make your very own custom tailor made tour. Please note that this is menu of tour options and it is not possible to cover every site or attraction in one day!
Conwy Castle: The location of Conwy Castle is impressive! Set on the river on a rock, with Snowdonia as a backdrop, the castle was built for Edward Ist by James of St George in 1283, the castle is amongst the finest surviving medieval fortifications in Britain and some say it is the most magnificent of Edward I’s Welsh fortresses.
Conwy Town Walls: Enjoy a walking tour around the medieval town walls with stunning views. Over 3/4m (1.2km) of town walls, one of the finest and most complete sets in Europe, with twenty-one towers and three gateways and still give the impression of enclosing and protecting the English colonised town created by King Edward 1st in the 13th century.
Caernarfon Castle: A brute of a fortress, Caernarfon Castle’s pumped up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. King Edward 1st created what is without a doubt one of the most impressive castles in Wales and beyond, and the castle and town walls provided means to keep some communities in and others out.
Beaumaris Castle on Anglesey, is described as the most technically perfect castle in Britain, and the last hurrah of Edward 1st massive building project in north Wales. It was the thirteenth-century hi-tech equivalent of a spaceship landing unceremoniously on Anglesey today. However Edward 1st huge building effort ended up proving too costly and Beaumaris Castle was never finished.
Lunch Options: We can offer a variety of lunch stops from a very popular historic Welsh Pub serving fine food and offering you a ‘True Taste of Wales’ or a modern restaurant located by the water of the scenic Menai Straits. Alternatively we can head out into the hills to a former school with stunning mountain views or you might want to enjoy a light lunch stop in the country where you can sample a ‘Taste of Wales’ with locally produced Cider, Apple Juices and Snowdonia Mineral water.
Our journey continues into the spectacular valleys and hills of the Snowdonia National Park where we tour relatively undiscovered areas, riding out through a scenic valley with a lake with distant views of Mount Snowdon and climbing into the hills up a mountain pass. We will make scenic stops for photographs. There’s also a wonderful riverside walk in the most beautiful welsh village of Beddgelert.
We then tour the most scenic road in Wales (rated by Visit Wales) as we drive the scenic mountain passes and stop off to view the rocky heights of Snowdonia and Mount Snowdon’s distant summit. (Subject to visibility on the day).
Enjoy a visit to the world famous Swallow Falls and then the lovely welsh town of Betws-y-Coed, where we visit the ‘medieval prayer house in the woods’. Nestled on the banks of the upper river Conwy, the church is best viewed from mid river on the pedestrian suspension bridge.
